interview with cnn & maddy’s first race.

here’s a little interview i did with cnn for father’s day.

also, this past weekend the liz logelin foundation held it’s annual 5k/10k/fun run in a heavily rain-soaked minneapolis.

and for the first time, maddy chose to run the 1-mile “maddy’s mile” fun run. she dragged me along with her (i was ill-prepared to run the thing, not only because i’m way out of shape, but because i was wearing rain boots and wool pants).

not only did i get to see lots of new faces and tons of familiar faces supporting our organization in some horrible weather, i also got to see my kid cross the finish line first. but more importantly, as we ran together, i got to talk to her about the importance of this run and how it both honors her mom and ensures that other widowed families are supported in their time of need.

best day i’ve had in a while…
